Graphs Panel
The Graphs panel lists the node graphs that belong to the open project. It is where you create a graph, bring an existing one in from disk, find a graph by name, and choose which graph the node graph canvas shows. Each entry also carries that graph’s run switch and its own set of actions.
The panel header is titled Graphs and ends with a guide button that opens this page.
Panel Overview
Section titled “Panel Overview”From top to bottom, the panel holds:
| Element | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Selected graph name | The name of the graph currently shown on the canvas |
| Save | Saves every graph in the project |
| Pause switch | Sets the paused state on every graph at once |
| Search box | Filters the list by name |
| New graph | Creates an empty graph in the project |
| Import graph | Loads existing .ovgraph files into the project |
| Play All / Stop All | Starts or stops every graph in the list |
| Graph list | One row per graph, with its indicators and run switch |
Creating a Graph
Section titled “Creating a Graph”Click New graph. A save dialog opens so you can name the file:
- The dialog starts in the open project’s
Graphsfolder - The file type is OverMox Graph (
.ovgraph), and the default name isnewgraph.ovgraph - Confirm, and the new empty graph is added to the list
Graphs that are running keep running while you add a new one.
Importing a Graph
Section titled “Importing a Graph”Import graph brings a graph file that already exists on disk into the project:
- Click Import graph
- The file chooser opens on the project’s
Graphsfolder and filters to OverMox Graph Files (.ovgraph) - Pick one file or several, then confirm
Each imported graph is added to the list, and the last one becomes the selected graph. As with creating a graph, graphs that are running keep running.
Finding a Graph
Section titled “Finding a Graph”Type in the search box to narrow the list. The filter matches from the beginning of the graph name and ignores case. Clear the box to show the full list again.
Selecting and Opening a Graph
Section titled “Selecting and Opening a Graph”Click a graph in the list to select it. The canvas switches to that graph, and the panel header above the list shows its name.
- Multiple selection - Hold Ctrl or Shift to select several graphs, which is what the rename, delete, and duplicate actions act on
- Reordering - Drag a graph onto another row to move it to that position in the list
Reading a Graph Row
Section titled “Reading a Graph Row”Each row shows the graph name plus the indicators that apply to it:
| Indicator | Meaning |
|---|---|
Asterisk (*) |
The graph has unsaved changes |
| Debug glyph | Debug Mode is turned on for this graph |
| Run switch | On while the graph is running; toggle it to start or stop that graph |
The run switch is disabled while the pause switch at the top of the panel holds the graphs paused.
Graph Actions
Section titled “Graph Actions”Right-click a graph for its actions. Rename, Remove, and Duplicate show their current keyboard shortcuts beside them, and the same shortcuts work while the list has focus.
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Rename | Edits the name in place in the list |
| Remove | Takes the graph out of the project list. The file stays on disk, and you are asked what to do about unsaved changes first. Removing a running graph stops it, and every other graph keeps running. The Remove shortcut removes every selected graph the same way |
| Duplicate | Adds a copy named after the original with _Copy appended, saved beside it |
| Show in File Explorer | Opens the folder that holds the graph file |
| Copy ID | Copies the graph’s identifier to the clipboard |
| Debug Mode | Turns debug mode on or off for this graph, which is what the debug glyph in the row reflects |
| Properties | Opens the graph’s properties in place of the list |
| Execution Mode | Sets how the graph yields, Automatic or Manual, with its own help button |
Running Graphs
Section titled “Running Graphs”- Per graph - The run switch on a row starts and stops that one graph
- Play All - Starts every graph in the list
- Stop All - Stops every graph in the list
- Pause switch - Applies the paused state to every graph at once
For what happens once a graph runs, see How Graphs Run.
Saving
Section titled “Saving”The Save button saves every graph in the project. If a graph is running when you save, the Controller offers to stop that graph and save it.
Graph Properties
Section titled “Graph Properties”Properties and Execution Mode both swap the list for the selected graph’s properties view. It shows the graph name, its Execution Mode setting, and a Clear All Overrides button. Use the back arrow at the top to return to the list.
